Dr. Nathan R. Brown

Nathan R. Brown M.D., D.M.D. is an oral surgeon, providing expert care of the mouth, face, and jaw. He received his M.D. in 2005 and his D.M.D. in 2008 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency in 2011 at the same institution with years of training that included operatory anesthesia, in-office anesthesia, facial trauma surgery, office oral surgery, corrective surgery, and cosmetic facial surgery.

Dr. Brown, originally from Alabama, has worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he practiced the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery including dentoalveolar surgery, implant surgery, bone grafting, orthognathic surgery, trauma surgery, reconstructive surgery, pathology, esthetic surgery, and tmj surgery.  He served as a teacher and mentor to residents and students.  He was course master for the Principles of Medicine course and lectured on a variety of topics.  

In 2012, Dr. Brown moved to the Northshore, bringing his extensive experience to Northlake Oral and Facial Surgery. He feels passionately about providing excellent care to his patients while assuring they understand every option that is available to them. Dr. Brown’s goal is to have each patient well-informed of their care so that they can be an active participant in any treatment plan.

Dr. Brown is currently a member of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Southeastern Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Louisiana Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, and the Northlake Dental Association.  When not spending time with his wife and three daughters, he enjoys bass fishing, bird hunting, and exploring the wonderful Northshore community.
