Patients who are missing an entire arch of teeth may discover that the Bar Attachment Denture is the right tooth replacement solution for them. The Bar Attachment Denture combines the security of dental implants with the convenience of being removable. Dr. Brown can place the Bar Attachment Denture using as few as four dental implant posts in just one or two visits.
Severe tooth loss can occur for many reasons. If you are experiencing significant or complete tooth loss, contact our office to schedule a consultation with Dr. Brown. As an experienced oral surgeon, Dr. Brown will conduct a complete evaluation of your condition, including reviewing your medical history and oral scans, to determine if the Bar Attachment Denture is the right tooth replacement option for you. Northlake Oral & Facial Surgery offers several tooth replacement options that are performed in our offices in Slidell, LA, and Mandeville, LA, including the Bar Attachment Denture. The moment you arrive at our office for your first visit, we will be focusing on making you feel at ease. After a thorough evaluation of your oral health and condition, impressions will be taken to ensure the dental implants are placed in the best position for your mouth. Additional X-rays or imaging may also be taken at this time.
Your procedure will begin with the administration of anesthesia. The type of anesthesia will be discussed and selected at the consultation. Once you are comfortable, Dr. Brown will extract any remaining teeth, if necessary, and place the four implant posts. These posts are made of medical-grade titanium and will eventually fuse with the jaw bone. Once the implants have healed, a connecting support bar is placed across the implants for the prosthesis to attach and detach conveniently.
